Who We Are

Bryana “Kappa” Kappadakunnel, owner and director of South Bay Mommy and Me, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT90464).  She is endorsed as an Infant-Family Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist, specializing in the care and support of infants, toddlers, and their families.  She is the former Curriculum Director for the Parent and Me program at The Mother Nurture Network in Redondo Beach, where she developed the program and facilitated classes for moms of infants and toddlers.  Her passion for teaching and supporting moms in connecting on a deep authentic level is what inspired her to launch her own center.

Her work is dedicated to improving the health, warmth, and joy in the child-parent relationship.  She has a special interest in how trauma impacts our attachment to our children, and how to utilize mindfulness, reflectiveness, and intuition to overcome barriers in our parenting experiences.  She also specializes in treating postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.  She is the proud mother of Matteo and happy wife of Matt.

Evy Jacobson is a Registered Associate of Marriage and Family Therapy (AMF95614), and a specialist in early childhood and maternal mental health.  As the mother of two elementary school-aged kids, she remembers what life was like when she was a brand-new mom — all the questions and conundrums — and how helpful and supportive  Mommy & Me groups were in those early years. Watching her own children’s development unfold, her fascination led to her earning a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology with a Child Studies specialization from Antioch University Los Angeles. As a parent educator and Mommy and Me facilitator, she specializes in working with toddlers, children and their families as they navigate the unexpected challenges of life.  In private practice, she addresses concerns related to maternal mental health, child development, and improving the child-parent relationship.  She is honored and excited to help new moms on their own journeys as they work through challenges and rejoice in the wonders of infancy and toddlerhood, all the while building strong child-parent relationships.

Kayce Vanderbeek manages the Mommy and Me program.  She is the mama to Booker, wife to Kirk, former in-home daycare provider, and has a long time career as a nanny.  Kayce’s love for supporting new moms and their transition into motherhood stems from her own journey into motherhood.  She recognizes the challenges and joys that accompany this transition, and she hopes that this program is one of the many joys mamas will experience in early motherhood.  Kayce brings her positive attitude, warm heart, and gentle soul to the team.
